When one talks about tourist in Indonesia,it is almost always Bali that comes to mind first, and then Jogjakarta with the Borobudur and Prambanan temples. The two regions have indeed all the attractions for a tourist, especially one from overseas, for they have the beauty of nature, remains of ancient cultures, and strang customs and tradition.Excellent roads, first class hotels, easy travel, all these also help to draw the tourists to Jogja and Bali.Another advantage is that each offers a wide variety of attractions all within easy reach, which is most welcome for people with limited time or a limited budget. In fact,Indonesiahas many more tourist resorts which are no less beautiful and no less interesting than Bali and Jogja.Lake Toba in North Sumatra is one such resort. It this the largest lake in the country, about 75 kilometres long and 25 kilometres wide, with a large island in it, the island of Samosir. It is not too difficult to get to the lake.An excellent road, partly winding trough the mountains, links it with Medan the capital of the province.A taxi will easily cover the distance in three and a half hours.Medan it self is only two hours'fliying time from Jakarta
